Wes Mountain is a cartoonist, reporter, illustrator and Visual Storytelling editor.

He is currently a Melbourne Property Reporter at The Age. He was previously Senior Digital Art Editor at The Pharmaceutical Journal in London and prior to that the Social Media and Visual Storytelling Editor At The Conversation Australia + New Zealand.

Cartoons + Illustrations

As well as comics, data visualisation and illustrations at The Pharmaceutical Journal and The Conversation, Wes has produced cartoons for outlets such as Crikey, Junkee, The Citizen, University of Melbourne's Election Watch, Independent Australia and the King's Tribune.

His cartoons have been exhibited in the Museum of Australian Democracy’s annual best of political cartoon collections multiple times and featured on ABC’s Insiders current affairs program. His illustrations have also been exhibited in London.

He (some time ago now) contributed a chapter to What's Next in Journalism: New Media Entrepreneurs Tell Their Stories on Renai Lemay's Delimiter. 

He is currently working on a collection of comics to be published in mid-2026.
